There’s no test tougher than a live taste test with someone who’s spent decades refining what it means to eat well.
Chef AJ — whole food plant-based pioneer, author, and host of one of the most-watched daily streams in the WFPB community — didn’t know Credo Foods before a mutual friend made an introduction. She had no notes, no prepared talking points, no reason to be generous. She just opened the jars and tasted.

How We Got Here
It started with a conversation about chips.
Chef AJ was chatting with Sarah Tanus of Tatamada — the brand behind the oven-baked, oil-free chips Chef AJ calls the best she’s ever had — and the topic turned to queso. Chef AJ asked Sarah why she didn’t make one. Sarah said she knew someone who did.
That someone was us.
A week after oral surgery had kept Chef AJ from tasting properly, she came back ready. She tasted every product we brought. Live. On camera. In front of her audience of 250,000 subscribers.
What She Said
We’ll let the video speak for itself, but a few moments stood out.
On the Cashew Queso, she noted how rich and thick it was compared to the others — exactly what you want in a queso that’s supposed to satisfy. On the Oat Milk Queso Blanco, she pointed out it was creamy and versatile enough to work as a pasta sauce, which is something our customers already know and love. By the end of the tasting, she said: “I know what the winner is. I mean, they’re all really good.”
Her audience agreed in real time. Within hours, comments started rolling in:
“I’ll be ordering these! The store that I used to get a queso from quit selling it.”
“I’m embarrassed to admit that I work at Whole Foods and have never noticed this product. You can bet I’ll check them out tomorrow.”
“Such a beautiful couple inside and out! Great product, can’t wait to try Credo.”
Why Credo Belongs on a Show Like This
Chef AJ’s audience cares deeply about what goes into their food. Her community is built around the idea that eating well isn’t about deprivation — it’s about finding foods that are genuinely good and genuinely good for you.
That’s exactly what Credo was built for.
Our products are made from real ingredients — cashews, oat milk, green chiles, nutritional yeast, shiitake mushroom powder — with no added oils, no artificial preservatives, no seed oils, and nothing you’d need to look up in a chemistry textbook. Every product is 100% plant-based, dairy-free, gluten-free, non-GMO, and zero cholesterol.
The queso that Chef AJ tasted isn’t a compromise. It’s the real thing — just made differently.
